Black Child

Black Child

Raises from the ashes of destruction

Black Child

Tethered to the arm of injustice

Black Child

Consumed with the passion of his ancestors

Black Child

Oppressed by the one track mind of society

Enslaved by the manifest of what black should be

Black Child

Rebels against conformity

Seeks out his black individuality

Black Child

Escapes from the cells created by the hands of man

Exhilarating freedom, now he stands

Before you as a

Black Child

Born a Prince but lives the life of a pauper

His wealth is in his skin

Overflowing knowledge from within

He is the Black Child

Truth and Power. We always struggle to represent what we truly are in this simple society...

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
