BLACK KNIGHT

BLACK KNIGHT

BLACK KNIGHT

Yearning like a heart

with no home of its

own,

or a deer with no place

to roam.

For there once was

a love

that I called my own.

Still the folly of youth

was the way of the day.

Passion was like

poison

and life yet

died away.

At long last the kings men

were all slain

and he dethroned.

All that remains is the

Black Knight

standing alone.

Death offers no

refuge,

sleep is no release.

Appalling the pain

that will show no restrain

and I ……

I long for one last taste

of my queen

and the poison that

slay me.

This is a great poem! You showed a nice use of language to create this strong write filled with vivid images!

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
