BLOOD ON THE WIND
Some people say there's a bad moon on the rise,
and some people say, it's the coming of the anti-Christ.
Some people walk through the valley in the shadow of death with open eyes ...
and some people just turn their backs
to the blood out on the wind.
Well I woke up drunk and dirty down in New Orleans
I'm all out of cigarettes, and my jones is calling me
I reached into my pocket ...
felt nothin' but a hole and she said:
"don't leave THAT on the nightstand when you go! "
Gypsy woman, don't you put no spell on me,
cuz I can see you cookin' up some kind of voo-doo recipe.
She said, "son .. you better get out while you can ...
and you better watch your back,
cuz there's blood out on that wind.
Lord have mercy on my wicked soul !
My flesh is torn and freyed,
and these threads are 10 days old!
OH LORD! How did I end up in this place?
I can't remember my own name,
and I can't bear to see my face.
Please forgive me, for all my wicked sins,
but don't look inside my soul,
cuz there's blood out on the wind.
I've seen desert rats, and heads in rags ...
junkies ,whores, and body bags.
These dirty streets ain't nothin' less than mean.
Sometimes I just wish I could clear my weary head
of all the crazy shit I've ever seen.
Gypsy woman ... don't you tell me what you see
cuz I can see it in your eyes
It ain't no voo-doo mystery.
She said, " son you better get down on your knees,
and look deep inside your soul ...
hope your Maker hears your plea"
Sweet Jesus! Please fogive all my wicked sins,
and wrap your gentle hands around my soul,
cuz there's blood out on the wind.
Seems like I got myself a situation ...
might be time for some introspective contemplation.
OH LORD ! Will you be my soul's salvation?
or do my demons win again,
when I give in to this temptaion?
I'm down on my knees Lord!
I'm begging you please Lord!
Won't you save my wicked soul !
There's blood on the wind!
Blood on the wind.
