Bloody Tears

Bloody Tears

I sat and gazed at the sky
Painted in cerulean blue
And wondered what it's like
To be so powerful

So strong
So inviting

I continued to sit in silence
And my eyes nearly closed

A drop of moisture
Splashed on my face

Intensely it burned

Drawing my attention
Back to the heavenly canvass
I saw just moments ago

The once blue sky
Was now an abject portrait
Of pessimistic grays
And lackluster blacks

I wiped at my face
To dry the moisture
And cool the burn

And my fingers dripped red

The downpour progressed

Steady drops of blood
Covered my face,
Filled my eyes,
And caressed my soul

Frantically I wiped at my face
Trying to remove the drops

Before they stained
Before they hurt

I rose to my feet
Only to find
They were hidden

Hidden beneath a bloody pool
Of heaven's tears

My life
was slipping away
My life
was not my own

The pouring rain
sweet agony

The pouring rain
Bitter distress

I tried to call out
Between the drops

I tried to ask forgiveness
But my voice

Was not my own

My soul had been contaminated
With disbelief

My lips had been diseased
With Satan's evil words

And God,

Continued to cry

This is amazing imagery and loved the flow of the story and the way you ended the poem, as well. Beautifully crafted start to finish. 10 from me.

Totally awesome verbal visions - blood crimson tears that stain... I was left burning with concern and wanting to call out between the falling drops. Once again your expression is exceptional in many tantalizing ways. 10

This is a very dark poem, and well written and descriptive. You write with so much conviction and realness.
