Blue Fruit Basket

Blue Fruit Basket

Why must we be separated by our skin?
Why must we hate each other?
Our looks and colors.
I am in love with a Pear but I am
Just an Apple and they say
It is not meant to be.
Our love is sweet.
Our love is maturing.
But when can our love be eternal
For I am just a Apple
And she is a beautiful Pear that
I cannot touch for I am bound
By people who despise me
For my looks and color.
We are all the same.
Some are bitter,
Some are sweet,
But in the end we are all
The same in each others eyes.
We are all bunched together in this basket
We call home.

Nicely written and well put. Why does it have to matter?

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
