Breathe

    Breathe

A time to hold emotion from all that can fail you
A place to hold your breath to keep from inhaling disaster
A way to let yourself go without turning yourself blue
A chance to attempt to make the worst disappear faster

Just untangling yourself from a web of uncomforting visions
Thinking you got it under control after all you went through before
Trying to walk away but there’s just too many collisions
Burning sensations that tear you apart and leave you sore

Insanity that just one breath can make you or break you
Thrown into wild stampedes of disappointment
Hardly ever knowing in the end all that is true
Waiting impatiently like a scheduled appointment

Life itself is bittersweet but it’s all we got
The mysterious seducing you to screw up sooner or later
Turned into habit you can’t help but get caught
    Subconsciously your indulgence becomes greater

Easier said than done to let no one bring you down
Easier said than done as called on dependence
Easier said than done to take that last breath or drown
Fearing to let go for there may not be resplendence

A story for all now and on the way
So many things where you will need to commit
The world in black, white and shades of gray
But you’re pushed to breathe no matter what may come of it

    Thank you so much.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

    T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
