    Buried, but not Forgotten

     Rising thoughts of wonder
    Does it take
    It all away from me
    To see
    The eyes beyond the window.

    What is this
    My little box
    Of counted souls
    So many whom
    Are lost.

    And of the buried many
    Hear your voice
    When we were able
    Meeting with each other
    Face to face.

    What you've taught me
    I have learned
    But not forgotten
    Whom and what
    I've gained, not lost
    From you.

    Scattered in these ashes
    Blown away
    Still rests my soul
    When I am with you
    All in spirit.

    Long forgotten days
    When we were young
    And time meant nothing
    But a drag and burdon.

    Living on the edge of time
    I sit and stare
    I wonder, watch, and
    Ponder why and how
    Am I still standing.

    very moving thoughts on the eternal mystery of the afterlife. this is an excellent write frog. powerful stanzas each another gem. bravo.
