The fire outside is like the one in my heart
It burns so hot no one can get close enough
To put it out
And as I stand here being swallowed by the flames
It's hard to see who really cares enough to get burned
Just to get to me
The smoke choking and blinding
It's hard to see anything or anyone
I lay down tyring to get away from the smoke
And as I take in a breath
Clear my eyes I see no one
Is willing to get burned to try and heal my shattered soul
Guess I shouldn't have been surprised
I wasn't very nice
Pushing away any and all that tried to get close
Truth be told I didn't want anyone to get burned
And as the flames consume me
I stand and a wait the faith
That I brought upon myself
In this circle of flames
That is my fear
