    Calm Before the Storm

    The Autumn sun

    sent beams of light

    through the slate blue clouds

    casting it’s reflection

    across the lake.

Still, like a piece of glass.

    Not a single ripple.

    Clear.

    Beautiful.

    The calm before the storm.

    The sun kissed leaves

    of the mighty oaks

    turned their leaves upward,

    as if in praise;

    awaiting the rain

    that would soon pour

    over them.

    Disturbing the clear....

    Clean ....

    Peace....

    that covers the lake.

    First one drop.

    then another

    until the reflecting qualities

of the lake are no more.

beautiful flow, and such a peaceful poem. It is really well done. I enjoyed it very much myrna Cox

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
