Poem Commentary

I'm tired of always hearing that men are at fault for relationships ending. So this work is dedicated to any man who's had his Heart Broken.

Calypso

Nothing breaks the Heart more than reality

A beautiful woman taught me that lesson

That beauty was a liar

She built her Dreams on the tomb of my desires

With hushed foot steps in the night

When all my Dreams were shattered

And I was left to the rat race of life

There is nothing left to say

Why did I ever say goodbye

She fooled me and dumbed me

She’ll suffer the same fate

My anger is justified

Is my Heart selfish for feeling so

She dare haunts my Dreams with her beauty

She taunts me with her memory

What more does she want of me

Her words and actions never matched each other

She’ll say “I Love you” now

And fall on her back for another

She’ll agree to “Till death do us part”

And give up the moment times get tough

What kind of woman did I give my Heart to

What once was my everything

Is nothing short of a monster

She fed off of the pain

It was her drug

Nothing pleased her more

How did I come to earn

Such a selfish foe

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
