Can You Save Me?

Can You Save Me?

Can you save me?
Even if there's nothing left to save?
Even if it's so deep down you can't find it?
What if it was never there in the first place?
What do you do then?
Dig deeper? Try to fill the gap?
What if you can't, what then ?
Will you leave just like everyone else ?

Can you save me?
Probably not but please just try.

Once, I knew a fine song, —It is ture, belive me,— It was all of birds, And I held them in a basket; When I opened the wicket, Heavens! they all flew away. I cried: "come back little thoughts!" But they only laughed. They flew on Until they were as sand Thrown between me and the sky. . . . by Stephen Crane/// You poem reminds me of a lot of his work. It has a bitter taste yet you have to read it through.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
