    Cancer

    Cancer
    My life before it struck?
I was 20 and healthy, always on the go.
I would never be anywhere to long.
There was laughter and tricks to be played.
    When I heard the news…..
It started to storm and rain
I could hear the thunder crashing BOOM
I saw my past and future flash before me,
like the lightning in the midst of a storm.
What is the aching in my stomach?
It seemed my life was skidding out of control.
I tried to hold on with all that I am, but my strength
Was no match for the impending words of the doctor?
Now what I thought to myself?
I heard my mom repeat bible scripture.
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
Then I saw my dad drop to his knees
I heard him ask, God save my Child.
    In the office….
I felt a sudden chill run through my spine.
Was it death is this, what it feels like.
It felt like the rain and thunder were on top
of me now drowning me in is dark way.

Thank-You for this poem my sister passed away 2 months ago from pantriatic cancer. It's like your poem told me what she did not. The feeling of being diagnoised. She tried to play it off as no big deal. It was to me! I miss her everyday. Your poem spoke to me. I'm glad you OK! God Bless you and yours your friend The Fighter

Sounds just where no one wants to be. Feelings and emotions in steps, reality. Prayers your way for a good conclusion.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
