Captivated

You’re not looking for a complication

Or a reason to stay

You’ve got one foot out the door

You’re on your way

I was just a moment in your life

When the time felt right

You have big things planned

But I’m not ready yet

Maybe one night

The stars will align

I’ll grow up and you’ll grow too

We’ll show up to the right party

With the right clothes and shoes

Maybe we could be the next

Hollywood couple living the dream

Maybe we could be

I always pictured us together

I thought we fit perfectly

Maybe not forever

But a chance certainly

You made me laugh

Even though you were shy

I didn’t get you half the time

I was quiet and infatuated

You pulled me in and it wasn’t long

Until I was captivated
