    Castle

    Castle

    Inherent ….

    Wearing my heart

    On thy sleeve

    I succumb to the pressure

    I bow out,

    I take my leave

    Placing my heart

    Behind a fortress

    Anticipating my gatekeepers call

He comes to scale these tethered walls

    Seeking entrance

With words of love, poetic rhymes

While I wait to feel the magic

Of the emotions that I hide

For what seems like long ago,

    Your words captured my heart,

To a place I would fall

    Continually, all the way down

    Where I would land waiting

    While my writer’s soul

    Lays dormant in a dungeon

    Chiseled out in the corner

    Of my heart..

    Waiting for it’s release

With the beckoning of his words

    And their tantalizing call

I'm not sure how to rate a poem. It feels like trying to rate someone's feelings, their past and future and everything in between. Therefore, I don't rate too many of the poems I read here. I hope you're okay with that.

Looking for a sincere loving person, isn't that what makes the world what it is today? I can understand the message you're sharing here. We like to hide until we feel safe, but it's hard to feel safe with someone we're afraid to open to. I enjoyed the message here.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
