    Ceasefire

    The day drags on,
    our yelling and screaming
    reverberating off the walls.

    I yell at you,
    you scream back,
our anger never level never drops.

    Maybe we shouldn't,
    yes we should,
why are we doing this again?

    And everytime I try
    to make it better,
    you don't answer.

    I want a ceasefire
    to this fighting,
    but it's all you want.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
