Poem Commentary

I just love a campfire....plain and simple

Campfire

Campfire

When I’m alone
Your light bids me welcome
And brings back fond memories
Of the days gone by
Won’t you…
Let me into your circle
Bring me light
Bring me warmth
Bring me home
Make me fly

Someimes I’m lost
And can’t find my way
You’re there in the background
Turning night into day
Show me your fire
Lead me along
Show me the path
Give me a song

Is it for you
Or is it for me
Will it hold you down
Or set you free
There for a stranger
There for a friend
There for the lost
Your light never ends

You’re burning so brightly
All things become clear
You draw people to you
They like to be near
They like to hear laughter
It makes them feel right
Your circle keeps growing
Bring them into the light

When I’m alone
Your light bids me welcome
And brings back fond memories
Of the days gone by
Won’t you…
Let me into your circle
Bring me light
Bring me warmth
Bring me home
Make me fly

I love sitting around a campfire-you worded this well-wish I was there being warmed by the light:)

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
