Chain
Sadness has come to haunt once again, and again I ask old questions.Where are my friends to lift this self pity, to hinder doubts ambitions.
They'll say life is just fine! Always ups for downs!
Like chains on a smile? or wings on a frown?
But oh! these long day are unpaid yet still taken,
And oh! so high is the ground.
Still though, I'll bind my cross to a chain
As I am bound to a day.
Perhaps one day this chain will break,
And my cross shall fly free and away.
