Changing Chance

Poem Commentary

Don't be afraid to make a choice.

Changing Chance

Here I am looking at the world below
Anxiously hoping with so far to go
Instantly, I see where I desire to be
Until that picture fades into obscurity
The feeling inside tells me I’m alive
On a journey past where the stars collide
One in a million says that I’m past due
But I’m so happy that I’m here with you

Inside, I am not quite the same anymore
Inside, I’m a little bolder than I was before
Inside, It’s something about the hope in me

Inside, It released a promise I could believe
Inside, I hear people question my destiny
Inside, They can’t take away my future dreams

Some people try to hurt you with their schemes
But don’t let them take away your means
They’ll tell you not to fight for your right to choke
Only because they’ve lost their will to hope
Leave them behind in their world of gloom
Desperation made them give into the doom
Every man, woman, and child need a lifeline
To use on the future that they plan to find

Inside, I am not quite the same anymore
Inside, I’m a little bolder than I was before
Inside, It’s something about the hope in me

Inside, It released a promise I could believe
Inside, I hear people question my destiny
Inside, They can’t take away my future dreams

I have left tomorrow behind to seek
A new meaning that holds more for me
Never give away the belief you own
To something that will forebode
The next day seems like more than it used to be
I feel free from the rush of uncertainty
I’m letting go of the need to control
I am now the solution to my goal

The poet has a lot to say in this one. And reveals much, showing positive growth. I like this. Good, clear, and righteously transparent.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
