Chase an Elf

Chase an Elf

If you saw an Elf, and he winked and he blinked,
What would you, my dear fellow, think?
If this Elf, let's suppose, in the starlight did prance?
After him, would you, good sir, dance?
He'd lead you on a merry chase,
Remember, Sir! You're at his grace.
Through the wood, briars, and brambles.
After him, you'd have to ramble.
'Til he lost you along the brook.
And for ever more, for him you'd look.
