Chimera

Chimera

The face I see in the mirror is not mine
It is blocking my view
gazing at my chaos, nauseatingly calm
taunting me from her realm
untouched by pain and betrayl
Safely behind her shield of glass
she flaunts her serenity
I plead with her to let me in
feigning understand, she offers her hand
stifiling her laugh as I try to grasp it
only to realize nothing is there
She clutches her sides
laughing hysterically
my need to escape some grand jest
peaceful and aloof she stands
telling me "SUFFER"
Hopelessness fills me
angrily I smash the mirror
and leering at the glittering shards
I ask, tone haughty,
"Who is laughing now?"
