Chopped and Screwed

  • Lost Love

    Chopped and Screwed

Three months ago, my heart was in a safe place

Three months ago, I don’t recall ever being happier in my life

Three months ago, I had keys to your house

Three months ago, I felt I was an integral part of your life

Three months ago, I felt the comfort of your bed

Three months ago, I felt the pleasure of your love

Although your love for me has ceased to exist, my love for you will never change.  It seems to have a life all its own.  I love someone for whom I no longer serve a purpose.

If only we could go back to 4/13/07 and relive the days that lead up to now.  The days that will ultimately become:

    Six months ago

    One year ago

    A lifetime ago

If I could do it over again, I’d never love you at all.

Very nice poem! It speaks the truth, in that so much could change in just a short amount of time (3 months in this case).

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
