Clean Sweep

Clean Sweep

Sweeping out the memories
from the corners of my mind
Thoughts of you escape my broom
and none of them are kind
For when I try to sleep at night
they gather in my heart
allready burdened by the pain
which grows while we're apart
I think its time to cauterize
the wounds you left are deep
Steal this pain from out of me
that I may finally sleep

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
