    CLOSE TO OUR HEART

    Close to Our Heart

    By

    Teresa Taylor

    Even though we yearn for your warm touch and your gracious smile; you had to leave us just for a little while; you earned your wings and flew away feeling free; Close to our heart you will always be; Before you left  we could read the expressions of peace on your face; saying” I suffer no more I am in a better place; No matter how far away you may be; close to our heart you will always be; the love you left behind gives us strength to endure the pain; although the wounds are still fresh; the scent of hope still remain; The tears that we shed and the times we weep is an expression of grief that lies so deep; We traveled down many roads where our only destination was sorrow; but then god showed a sign that there was hope for tomorrow; Only time can heal; Only time can help us to see; Close to our heart you will always be; as seasons change and years go by we still ask the question: WHY?

    Although there is no answer; not even a simple clue; our hearts speak three words and that is “We Love you”.  Love is not a memory it is a treasure it lives in the heart for which no one could measure; every thought of you will always remain; every tear drop that fall will represent joy and not pain; Although you left us your memory still lives on and on; we honor you; your spirit is never gone; like an eagle sailing away in the wind; you turned around and said “This is not the end”.  As we walk down this journey you earned your wings and flew away feeling free; close to our heart you will always be;
