closer
The days are long, the nights are longer
Restless suffering, there is more to come
Her mind is strong, her heart is stronger
Released from shackles, unknown freedom
Escaped and found an unclaimed hell
Better than the one she knew
Finding things she’ll never tell
Knowing what she’ll never do
Truth it fills her eyes with sorrow
Pain it bleeds, her crying eyes
Joy she longs just to borrow
Before she finally dies
A far off voice that calms her rage
Not close enough to make her tame
There is no book with just one page
she shares a story much the same
Ageless, the beauty of it all
Immortal, death longs for her
On the knees that never crawl,
Life it seems all a blur.
Timeless, it all slips away
Memories, no remorse
Knowing she will not stay
But to follow her course
Darkness she knows and embraces
Feelings known all too well
The evil that lurk in common places
In the shadows in which they dwell
