cold and lonely

    cold and lonely

    My skin wrinkles in discomfort

    My bones yearns for clothing

I closed my eyes helplessly in pity

As I feel the rain drops on me

Gone is the warmth I use to feel

Gone is the comfort I use to cherish

Gone is the joy that use to be part of me

Gone is the love that use to be mine

    Sorrow I now feel

As sadness rules in my world

Bitterness for my good old memories

    Everything I had was you

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
