Cold Dance

Cold Dance

When she won’t look me in the eyes

When she’s looking to the side of the floor for another

When she barely holds my hand

Like she wishes it was another’s

Use to feel a strong connection

Now a cold distance

What happened in that Heart of her’s

I miss that old feeling

I miss her smile

Who would steal such a thing from us

Could it be her past

Could it be a villain in the present

Have I become my own worst enemy

Regardless the foe

One thing remains

What we had

Gone missing

I want to search

Hunt and find

What I was falling for

It was too good

For me to sit and do nothing

So I’m taking a stand for us

Fighting for what we shared

Our dance is not over

I’ll take the Lead

Back to center floor

We go round and round

Each other and these issues

Until I find that soul

I was falling for

Don’t leave me with a bow

Ill bid you ado

Only with my lips

From my Heart

This dance is for us

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
