    Poem Commentary

This was one that was inspired by a song and work. The muse comes in some strange disguises. This is also one from my chapbook that i self-published through lulu.com

    Cold Sweat

Chased by the moon through the halls of madness,
    No egress to be found.
    Lamentable spectres of broken dreams
    Upon both walls abound.
    From above and below
    My private demons compete.
To see which will be able to stop
    My headlong retreat.
Face to face with the beast, in the mist,
    I hear this sad refrain.
"Could be those who claim sanity
Are the ones who are truly insane."
    Will I ever escape?
Will I ever find the way?
I awake in a Cold Sweat
To the light of another day.

I really like this one, Dman. I think, maybe, because I think I know where you were when you wrote it. It sounds very familiar to my own thoughts at one time.

This is awesome! It appears you have just made my faves list with this one! What is sanity anyways?

What a great read this one held my attention from beginning to end. Loved this line "Could be those who claim sanity Are the ones who are truly insane" 10 from me.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
