    • Very excited and very grateful. My son Michael will be coming back to American soil in about 12 days I want to thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes and strength.

    Come Out and Play

    The Moon
Followed me to work this morning.
    I saw him
    Peeking over my left shoulder
    As I navigated the highway.
    He wasn't the robust
    Harvest Moon
    Of last evening.
    He seemed a bit fatigued,
    Having spent the night
    So high in the sky,
    Glowing brightly
    Outside my bedroom window,
    Tempting me
    To come out and play.

    His color was pale
As he trailed so close behind me.
    I winked at him
As I walked the parking lot
    And , you know,
    I think
     I saw him wink back.
    'Come out and play"
    He whispered soflty
As he faded into the morning sky,
    "Come out and play."

In Russian moon-'Luna' is feminin so I am always thinking that it is She, not He but it is really in our nature to personify moon. Very nice poem

It is still not clear to me whether the moon is male or female, the decision changes with each poem.... thank you so much for stopping by and reading my poem, so great to meet you, mlea

Mlea, A playful, cleve , personification that is delightful. The fantasy element is like a fairytale. Splendid! ginga

I love how you paint these wonderful, colorful pictures. I see this scene every day, but miss the beauty you have captured with your pen. Love it, TS

ah... the moon, he does influence me greatly. I can hardly resist the peaceful look on his face( His?) We are bad together, the moon and I. Mother tried to separate us years ago but to no avail... he still follows me... thank you,T for visiting, hope to see you again soon, mlea

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
