• Love

    i love you
and at times it feels like pain
    and sorrow
    and a tempestuous tomorrow that
    won't let me lead

    i love you
    with the gravity of greed
    and falling
and all that weight that waits
until you land on your feet

    i love you
as i pry myself into sleep
    this dark
    the big things are deeper
and our souls leak the language
    of longing

    ESSENCEOFLOVE commented on companion

You captured the essence of love and all it's complexities in such a short well written piece. I love your flow...........E

thank you so much for stopping by !

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
