Poem Commentary

This poem is about being lost with-in love that was once felt and soon to realize that one's self was consumed by a love that wasn't true.

Confusion

Sitting here wondering what has happend,

Confusion has overtaken my mind.

Not sure what is going on,

Don't know what I am doing.

The only life I ever knew in now a memory.

Love I once had felt is gone from my heart,

Bitterness and pain are all I feel.

Confused with life, love, with who I am,

I no longer know where I stand.

My path has became a broken path that goes in every direction.

Not sure where I go from here.

Trying to fill the void has became my weakness of desire.

Searching for solitude,

Ending up with only temporay solutions.

Fear of not knowing what the future holds,

Moving forward one foot in front of the other will someday get me to where I am suppose to be.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
