    Contemplate

    A train chugs on rails,
    City's cement, and steel
    Towers high, architects;
    Smoke fills once clean air,
    Cigarettes, factories-
    Smog, cars drive day and night.

    Sun shines, city fair
    Wonder, youth,
    The world big, unfound-
    Ferris wheel, cotton candy
    Laughter, love;
    Smell of sea, waves lullaby.

    Taxis filled, strangers about
    Souls in new world, strange world-
    Money in pockets,
    Some left in dust, lay about;
    Bridges, Highway
    Bikes in the park.

    Dogs bark, cats roam,
    Through fences, wooden
    Awnings, red, green, and blue-
    Hotels, temporary visit
    Apartment, young dreamer's temple;
    Stars shining,
    Moon and sun take turns.

    Subways, carved under city
    Illuminating, tunnels stretch far;
    Artist hitches a ride
    Destination unkown-
    Observes city people, sounds,
    Grim conclusion.

    Interesting imagery. I like the separations you put in your work. It shows a change in scenery

    A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
