Poem Commentary

Witten for a contest i never entered

Contest Never Taken

Perdition

Threshold battled bastion

Has crippled Anteros, and his wings

Barricaded in her boudoir

Smirking between spindles weaving woes

Warping men.

Like wind twirling a whirligig

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
