Could It Be?

Could It Be?

A whisper, a page-
something I needed to hear?
This is why
memories of you
blend.

You tell me
I hear what I want.
It is, but it isn't.
Somehow, I know.
I. Know.

Could it be you,
turning to see me,
wanting you so,
much closer?

Could it be?
It needs to be said,
not implied, suggested.
No games, no rules,
no ending.

You give me a glimmer.
A string-too weak
to hang from, yet
precious enough to hold.

Nicely expressed words of sadness, love and hope. Where we need to cling to anything other than lose one so very special... Kindest thoughts, Anna-Marie.

Thank you! I am touched by your comment.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
