Creaks

Creaks

These creaks I hear at night,

they remind me of the bad times,

all of the times that were plagued by images,

images of death and sadness

All of these creaks,

they have threatened and mocked me,

for all of eternity,

and never seem to cease

Creaks,

always and forever existent,

forever more sorrowful,

always speaking to me,

All of these creaks,

day in and day out,

you never seem to leave,

and ridicule my existence

Bad memories whisper, and the more we try to ignore them the louder they seem to get. You've imbued the feeling with truly artistic starkness. Hard ten!

Thank you!...My inspiration to write these two poems (inner demons and creaks) were actually my life..and your writings. Thank you for the inspiration! And for your comment

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
