    Creation

From the dark corner of my mind
I hurl what is to be creation
    Matter blends with idea
The greatest of many to come
    Eruption
    Fire and ice
    Cold and lifeless
    Wilderness of naked though
    My soul pour into it
    Willing it to be,
To see and show the reflection of me
My seed flung into the darkness
    Spreading into the womb
Light shatters the darkness and creation was born

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
