    Creation

She sits in silence, alone, with only her thoughts.
Is she really alone,  she wonders.....
She takes in a long breath of air
She can feel the soft sway of the tall grass brushing softly against her skin.
She hears birds chirping all around her, almost as if they are trying to tell her something.
The sounds of the trees swaying above and around her.
She stares at the beautiful blue in the sky
The clouds look white and puffy, in their most perfect and unique form.
She can hear the soft rythem of the butterflies wings, that seem to be dancing around her.

The sounds are in unison now.
It sounds like the sweetest music to her ears.
She lays still waiting to see if she hears anything more.
She's relaxed and feels complete bliss.
The sounds around her become clearer the longer she lays wondering.
With her eyes shut, imagining what is out there. The things that are not visible to the most.
She hears a different sound, she could swear it was the voice of a man.
Gentle and soft, caring, loving, and understanding.
She feels nothing but pure love around her.
Her eyes still closed, she wonders, should she open them.
The voice she hears, wispers you're not alone child, you are safe.
She slowly opens her eyes and looks around her.
She sees no one, not one soul.
Only the beauty that lay around her.
She sits for a moment, thinking of all she had taken in.
She knows now she's not alone at all.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
