Crows Feet

crows feet

crow's feet covered with snow
watching I see him strutting slow
walking on the frozen ground
why doesn't he just fly around
does he mind the icy feel
looking for his breakfast meal
rooting here pecking there
he doesn't really seem to care
finding a crumb of who knows what
in the McDonald's parking lot...
I turn my head up towards the sky
against my face the snowflakes fly
now it is my turn to know
crow's-feet covered with snow
(I love those laugh lines!)

This is perfect in its flow and simplicity. Love the ironic humor at the end! Good work!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
