    Cut too deep

    I only wanted to inspire.
Found out 'friend' was just another word for liar.
Down the dark path lit by light.
Drenched in blood too tired to fight.
Distance says: I don't care to walk.
People huddle behind and only like to mock.
    Empty houses all around.
    Sinking deep into the ground.
    Closed windows full of lies.
Open doors I staggered through were in disguise.
    Crying tears only to dry.
Taking a deep breath hold onto the sigh.
A heart cannot bleed once it's turned to stone.
I stand here, abandoned, in the world alone.

I can *totally* relate to this. In fact, it almost sounds like something I might have written, but alot more focused. Lol. Nice and dark. :)

that was another wonderful write you did me dear, you seem to have a way to put such a magical spin on your emotions making them jump right off the page and into the hearts of the readers....you capture the reader with such ease with the wonderful flow and fantastic beginning of your poem.......that is the way to do it,,,,,,capture them all with a blast at the start and let them down smoothly with a memorable end.........well done.......love asha

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
