Poem Commentary

My Dad passed on in November 2010. He was the greatest man I have ever known!

Dad

My Father

Look out around you,

The universe is a vast place.

With so many directions to go,

It is easy to lose your way.

Blessed was I,

For I had a dad.

A strong man  who I looked up to.

Through his example as a person and a father;

I saw what a person should be.

His wisdom, intelligence, strength, and  love,  guided the way.

In this world of turmoil,

In this whirlwind of uncertainty,

I am certain of one thing.

If I find my way to be a fraction of the man my father is,

I’ll be far ahead of most men.

And if I stray from my course,

I know like a beacon in the night,

His light will guide me Home.

Beautiful write and tribute to your father. According to the date on this it is a year ago this month. I can't imagine your loss hurts any less. well done. -Tonya
