Daddy, Don't Cry...

  • To be set free, but locked away in my own cell of fear

Daddy, Don't Cry...

We both know you were never there
But now you've come across the distance
I'm sure there are things we both still feel to share
Even though everything now seems balanced in my existence

For a really long while there were things I felt
Then you came along and helped me feel whole
For having such little time with me under your belt
You still mangaged to fulfill my soul

You were scared to step foot through this door
This door that you thought had closed
And after walking through with no struggle your face hit the floor
But there was just thing I proposed

Daddy, don't cry
The hardest part is done
I've still grown into you without a try
And we've reduced two to one

Daddy, don't cry
The darkest part is over
Now you know more than just a picture from past time
And now we walk side by side, shoulder to shoulder

It seemed like an unachievable moment in time
We lived two worlds apart
But this new found relationship is still in it's prime
An it's like we're living again clean from the start

Connected from afar
Communicating through the ink in our veins
Soaring through the universe to the Northern Star
Symbolizing how bright hopes and dreams stimulate our brains

Daddy, don't cry
We've walked the rainbow and claimed the gold
There's no limit to what we can do from this point on
No matter who the cards look we'll refuse to fold

Daddy, don't cry
I'm not going anywhere
And I know now, for you, I can say the same
This is ours to share

I couldn't have asked for a better chance
To undo what was already done years ago
But never forget to remember this never ending danec
That started with your first memorable "Hello"

We'll keep moving on ease
There won't be a need for another goodbye
So I'm begging you please...
Daddy, don't cry

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
