Dance Eternally

Dance Eternally

Black and white and shades of gray

Haunt my every waking day

My present life a darkened haze

Masked by your memory

Shadows creep upon my wall

Swinging swaying down my hall

Dance a tune at death's grand ball

Calling out to me

Thoughts of you I can't erase

My lovers eyes and warm embrace

Or the paleness of your face

When death had set you free

But freedom hasn't come my way

Since your life slipped away

My broken heart's upon display

For all the world to see

How long must I live this way

In this world from day to day

Death be kind take me away

This is my only plea

I long for death to take me soon

And then a song plays in my room

Filling up my self made tomb

A song for you and me

You reach right through me with your hand

Guide me through my empty land

Waltz me softly to the band

I feel your entity

You slowly lead me on the floor

Swing me gently to the door

Encourage me to live life more

And let my hand go free

I take a tiny small step torward

A brand new life as I move forward

Turn myself back to the door

But you have gone from me

I blow you softly one last kiss

Knowing that our lover's bliss

Is something I will surely miss

But not eternally

For in the end I know it's true

In life's sweet death I'll dance with you

When my life on earth is through

For all eterninty

sweet and Elegant and real and true.....word play is amazing .........subject matter adorable and put death into a light not a dark as others seem to see death as alway the enemy of man instead of just the opposite of life and not a threat unless it comes through suicide which is a spiritual disturbance of the flow of life and death which nature has dominance over and no man should touch with out eternal curse of his own natural rhythm in the spirit realm creates turbulence of un-rest for the spirit of that which once was flesh and spirit, but yet this dance lead to your door a new door not his door yet the completion of your dance with this soul you once knew one that left you not empty but fulfilled in his absence. this one is a weak up call of someone who knows the spirit world continuous or uncontentious and is a place and miss understanding that humans don't comprehend yet some do not many.this poem needs to be copy written it is spellable. science is bringing these fracture's to the surface as we speak I have been doing my research.I rate this a 100 and you are wonderful in spirit. the wonderful world of the unknown. You sister in poetry. Chi.

Very impressive..Good flow and rhythm. I believe we do not cease to live when we leave this world..I believe that a soul will always find its mate not matter how long it takes.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
