Darkness Rang

Darkness Rang

Time is here but yet it's lost, I will never understand why

How is it that we paid his cost, and yet we suffer and die?

Time was hidden, so far away, that I may never see

Please God, take me away, please let my soul be free.

My last prayer is so alone, and yet the angels sing

I'm alone as I have feared, to feel the scorpion's sting.

The pain is sharp, the pain is numbing, it's like a demon's fang.

I run away, I run to hide, and yet the darkness rang.

The pain is loud, somethings' coming, I should run away

But instead, I fall to the floor, so weak that I must stay.

I feel the tears, I feel the blood, it's running into my eye

Alone in the dark, alone in the shade, I know that I must die

I hear him coming, he's so so close, I can feel his fang

It's in my heart, my heart stops, and now darkness has rang.

I love the style you write with and the way you phrase your verses. Beautifully written, just enthralled me completely. Great job, my friend!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
