Day after day

Sadness fills my heart,

today of all days,

every year it’s the same.

Alone for another day

I see in school all these flowers

a reminder of my pain

they say “I love you” on the tag

I’m forgotten by everyone,

as usual.

I weep silently,

no one sees… that’s my intent

waiting for this day to end

it seems endless

wake up tomorrow

it’s a repeat of the day before.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
