    Dead Reckoning

    The sensations felt
    The soft caresses
    The sweet tastes
    The wasted time...
    The taste is now bitter
    The caress is now harsh
And there is no sensation felt,
From the tips of my fingers, to the tips of my toes...
    The tingling appeal
    Of your warm kiss
    No longer stimulates me
Your soul no longer moves me...
    The eyes that once wandered
    Are just dead gaping holes
    I see no life
Only death among  among this pool of blood...
Not even shadows that used to escape me
    Nothing passes through the fields
    Of dead reckoning
    The branches have died
The leaves fallen to the ground
There is no love in this barren wasteland
    Only haste and hate
This heart no longer the red color of a rose
It is now black like the pit of darkness
    Something like hell...

great poem dear. but the subject is one that has been way to many times in my life. Love can be the greatest gift or the worst experience you can endure. I hope your heart is healing and that the scars will mend.. Thanks for sharing...

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
