    Dear Friend

I had you once, you were my man
You held my heart in the palm of your hand
You didn't ask much, just to know how I felt
But alone with my feelings I dealt
The best times of my life were spent with you
And I know that you felt that way too
I've moved on and so have you
But I'd give it all up for one last chance with you
You were one of the best friends I've ever had
You made me so happy and I made you so sad
I'll never forgive myself for pushing you away
Nor that i left you on christmas day
You'll always have a special place in my heart
No matter if we're together or far apart
I wish you the best of luck in life
I'm just sad that I never took the opportunity to be you're wife
I'm so sorry that I hurt you Dear Friend,
I'll never have you to hold again.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
