    Dear Past

    dear past,


    please don't be hurt

    i had to leave you behind


    i'm sorry about what i said

    you never held me back

    it was my own fear of letting go


    i have not forsaken you

    and will not forget you


    you will always be part of who i am


    don't be jealous of the present

    nothing can replace you


    don't be anxious about the future

    there wouldn't be one without you


    always know that i am grateful

    and couldn't have made it this far without you


    i must move on now

    and ask that you let me go


    i hope you don't mind

    if i remember things better than they were

    it will only allow me to grow more fond of you

    to speak to oneself, I like this, see it, hear it, here and there, always a special view, to see someone talking to themselves, private and public, and the intent is straight on, hits the mark, I will work every minute to not drag my heavy chains of sour bad past with me in my now, I will work to dispel them at the door of my now, they live outside, sometimes they get a foot in the door, I do let them in, they take up minutes or hours, I don't know, they eat a few of my nows, now and then, ok, I let them out the back door, out the ears, out the pours, I love liberation, when I feel it. And you wrote it all,with a better endng, painting the memories a little nicer... without rhymes, ee style, I don't know the names, but I like the way it's presented neatly, and it's a 10, and should be in the print book.

    What a wonderful and liberating thing to do! Just imagine the how much more lively our steps, and how much further we could go without all the old baggage! ~10~ Great write!
