Dear Sweet Misery

Dear Sweet Misery

Dear sweet Misery,
Just for once can't you let me be?
One night without tears would be nice.
Or will you prove to be cold as ice?

Another bridge to take,
Is it real or just another fake?
Wouldn't be the first time I was taken as a fool.
My threads of life twisted around another spool.

Oh dear sweet Misery,
Why are you always following me?
Do I always need to attract the worst of life?
But I will no longer touch the knife.

Some night I do feel weak,
And that knife I just might seek.
Yet no more can I allow myself that pain.
Like everyone else I should endure the rain.

Good poem I hope misery will soon pass by your door. Hold on the only answer is time, and that can be misery in and of it self.

Wonderful rhythm and rhyme, and the message is sublime. I always love the words you choose. The way you make me feel in the poem is really very good. Addressing the emotion a person really hits home and is a good angle. Brilliant! Write on..

this is Gothic poetry at its most deadly, at its most cold, at its most darkness. Bravo!!!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
