    Poem Commentary

Oddly enough, this fits with several decisions I've had to make in my lifetime.

    Decisions, Decisions

What is written on my face

Is not what is written on my soul.

    This charade is draining

    My body, mind, and spirit.

The only resolution would have a negative,

    Crushing impact on someone

    Of great importance to me.

And even if that weren’t a factor,

I’m not sure if it would be right

Or if it would be the biggest mistake of my life.

But if I sit idly by

    And don’t make a decision,

Could I inadvertently cause more grief?

The aggravation has become a constant companion.

Hehe, I may be a teen with a dark sense of humor, but I started laughing at the end of this, cause I know how ya feel there. I love the title, it actually pulled at my eyes to read the poem. The only lines I couldn't appreciate as much as their potential, were lines 5-7. I had read them, and thought to myself, "What are you talking about" just cause the breaks between them are confounding, but once I read them over I got it. :P Thanks for sharing your poetry.

I'm glad you were able to laugh at this because I was feeling a little 'ugh, I give up,' before I also started laughing at myself. And I think you're right about the breaks. I may have to tweak that a bit. Thanks for taking the time to read!

I am haunted more by what I failed to do from indecision than from what I've done from a wrong one.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.
