Delusion

Delusion

with a poisoned pen these words inscribe
some in truth while others lie
wrought of painful blind confession
lashing out with flawed perception

ever yearning for the light
forever hidden deep inside
untouchable and without sight
false prophet of deceptions right

cast aspersions and despair
yet claim these accusations fair
unloved, revile, retaliate
with evil, hateful, wicked spate

spurn the truth with convenient sighs
and spin whole cloth from webs of lies
then seek a love more perfect still
this empty, grasping heart to fill

the plaintive voice once given heed
planted only bitter seed
whispered words like toxic rain
and rendered all in shades of pain

the trusted counselor thus revealed
betrays the truth so long concealed

it was only ever I

who did believe the damned lie

TP, there certainly are those whom enjoy twisting their tales and spewing their *self-made laws* on others for their own unfathomable reasons no one wishes to acknowledge understanding. Always there exists a balance without one even having to lift a finger....SBear

Thanks Bear - I enjoy your comments quite a bit you know. You're one of the few here who really respond to what's being said. - Tender

Yw TP, i'm honored by your kind comments. Reading your finely written work is enjoyable. Now i've been told by many that i'm far too outspoken...Lol...SBear

Your pen is so intense with the truth and the pain you feel, you have been lashing out for some time now, may your road find the destination that your heart seeks, be well k

Fooling ourselves. Yes that does happen on occasion. The metaphor isn't too deep and rhyming is a little rough and forced sounding in stanza 2 but most of it rides well for me. A poet friend// RH Peat

Like feeding a puppy out of sorts, loving you leads to a tangible mess. Speak Fifi, speak! Your poetry is irresistible. But I craved one more syllable in your finale, so I swapped damned for cur-sed and let out a sigh of relief. Fave line? Spin whole cloth from webs of lies. I wish I'd written that. Harv

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
