    Distance

    How far is the sun?

    Or the moon?

    And the stars?

The distance between you and I?

Always told to reach for the sky

    If I didn’t pay attention

Life would simply pass me by

    I can only move forward

    There’s no going back

    I have to keep moving

    Keep reaching toward

    Those goals and dreams

That I hold in my heart

But the more I reach for them

    The further we grow apart

I’m holding on for dear life

I don’t want to let go

But I can feel the distance

    Making our hearts cold

    Sometimes we’re up

And other times we are down

    Yet we both stick around

    Trying to avoid the inevitable

How do you achieve the impossible?

    Skating on thin ice

    Hanging by a thread

    So many shoulda, coulda, woulda

    Too many words unsaid

Too selfish to do the right thing

I’m right when I’m with you

    Now it all feels wrong

    I’m reaching for the moon

But where does that leave you?

These words speak clearly to me. The more you try to conceal and control emotional turmoil, the more "out there" and uncontrollable it seem to get, It's hard to look for a quiet solution with consternation ringing in your ears.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
